MAURICE’S BAR 2023
Owned by the mysterious Moïse Zekri, an Algerian-Jewish immigrant, the bar was forgotten legend of early 20th century Parisian queer night life.
The film follows a poetic recollection of the night of the bar’s raid and closure by the police in 1908, retold through the eyes of those who were there.

A day in the life of Tamou, a housewife in 20th century Morocco, chasing her male alter ego in the shadow of prying eyes. An internal exploration of gender and sexuality in moroccan jewish culture.

About
Tzor is an animation director, illustrator and musician based in Tampere, Finland.
BFA Animation, Screen Based Arts department Bezalel Academy for Arts & Design, Jerusalem, 2019
Their work is inspired by the cultural exchanges and migrations of the Mediterranean and beyond, with a focus on North African Jewish culture.
An essential part of their work is reinterpreting historical texts and breaking down physical spaces through a contemporary queer lens, bold and expressive visuals, and uncompromising subjectivity.
Tzor is also a professional tattoo artist and a musician, playes cello and oud, and composes music for their films.
